There is a light that has been coming
from afar ever since the dawn of human
thought. It has embodied itself in philos-
ophy. It has mirrored itself in religion;
it has been heard as the march of scientific
progress. Above all, it is witnessed as
"the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar
of fire by night" guiding the destinies of
man in the great evolutionary struggle —
leading him on to the Great Goal of life,
— the development and full intensity of
the spiritual consciousness.
